A worthy cause being supported in an exceptionally creative way

I was going to post today on the (non)joys of flying and my recent ill-adventures and general ineptitude in flying the friendly skies, but after reading this link today, I realized that post can wait a few more days.

This young woman, Miss Elaini, is on Day 88 of a 100-day fundraiser to assist orphans in India. But this isn’t a traditional fundraiser: instead she’s wearing the same dress for 100 days in order to raise awareness and funds for Warm Blankets Orphan Care, which assists orphans in finding homes, schooling, vocational and religious training, and lots more besides. The charity also provides care and assistance for widows.

Please check out her blog and follow her remaining 12 days if and as you have opportunity. In addition, feel free to check out the Uniform Project, which is the remarkable blog that first inspired Miss Elaini to take this step herself.

There is more than one way to change the world. These ladies chose to change the world using just one little black dress (the trusty LBD) and a camera.

I’d love to hear about any other efforts like this one—feel free to drop me a line or send me a link if you know of others.

Thanks!
